President Donald Trump said he’d agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday on the condition that Iran agree to reopen the critical Strait of Hormuz. Israel has also agreed to the ceasefire, a White House official said. Iran’s Supreme National Security Council released a statement outlining that Iran’s 10-point plan “emphasizes fundamental matters” like the “regulated passage through the Strait of Hormuz under the coordination of the Armed Forces of Iran.” This would grant Iran a “unique economic and geopolitical standing,” the statement said.
